Mrs Gerald Legge(1929- 2016), featured in At home to the Sketch, with her sons Rupert(b. 1951) and William(b. 1949), at their home in 12 Chester Street, off Belgrave Square, London. Raine McCorquodale, the daughter of Barbara Cartland and stepmother to Diana, Princess of Wales, was a British socialite and politician; she was married three times and at this time was married to the Honorable Gerald Humphrey Legge, Viscount Lewisham and later, 9th Earl of Dartmouth. She was later known as Raine, Countess Spencer; and Comtesse de Chambrun. Date: 1952

Grave of Rupert Brooke in Skyros
Crosses on the Greek island of Skyros marking the grave of the English poet, Rupert Brooke (1887-1915), where he was buried having died a sea, having contracted septicaemia from an infected mosquito bite. He had joined the Royal Naval Division. The Sketch magazine, which published this photograph quoted his most famous, and as it turned out, prescient, lines, If I should die, think only this of me. That there's some corner of a foreign field. That is for ever England. Date: 1918
