Coronation 1953, traditional guildhall luncheon
The newly-crowned Queen Elizabeth II attends a a traditional Guildhall luncheon in her honour on 12 June 1953, ten days after the Coronation. A luncheon is traditionally given by the Lord Mayor and the Corporation of the City of London at Guildhall in honour of the new sovereign. The Queen can be seen centre talking to the Lord Mayor, Sir Rupert de la Bere. On her left is the Duke of Edinburgh talking to the Lady Mayoress, Princess Margaret and the Duchess of Gloucester. To the right of the Lord Mayor is Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother and the Duke of Gloucester. Date: 1953
