The Tout - Peter Ronald Buchanan
Mr P. R. G. Buchanan, whose caricatures, mainly of horse racing society, under the pseudonym The Tout were published in The Tatler and The Bystander magazines during the 1920s and 30s. Pictured at work at his easel in 1923 when an exhibition of his drawings was held at the Walker Art Galleries in New Bond Street. Date: 1923

The Daring of Diane, comic operetta by Heinrich Reinhardt
The Daring of Diane, comic operetta in one scene adapted by Arthur Anderson, from Die Suessen Grisetten by Julius Wilhelm, with music by Heinrich Reinhardt, (Holle Cabaret Theatre in Vienna, on 1st December 1907). First produced at the Tivoli music hall, on 22nd January 1912. Reinhardt had a successful career in Vienna as an operetta composer. This was a one act piece. The Artist is E.P. Kinsella, dated 1912. Date: 1912

An unusual foot race during a horse-racing meet
English gentlemen gambling on an unusual foot race during a horse-racing meet on the Champs de Mars, Paris, 19th century. Stubbs the Yorkshireman is piggybacked on vulgar Cockney grocer John Jorrocks shoulders as they win a 100-yard sprint against the Baron. A crowd of French peasants, soldiers, cheer them on in front of tents. Mr. Jorrocks beats the Baron for speed.
