Marquess and Marchioness of Anglesey
Sir Charles Henry Alexander Paget, 6th Marquess of Anglesey GCVO (1885-1947) and his bride, Lady Victoria Manners, a daughter of the 8th Duke of Rutland, returning from their honeymoon to their stately home, Beaudesert Hall on the eastern edge of Cannock Chase in Staffordshire. At the Guildhall they were welcomed with a speech from the Mayor of Lichfield, and the Mayoress presented the Marchioness with a bouquet. CHEVY-CHASE. Popular British Ballad telling the story of a large hunt, lead by Percy, the Earl of Northumberland which was interpreted as an invasion of Scotland by the Scottish Earl of Douglas who had forbidden the hunt. Thought to have been based on the events of the Battle of Otterburn in 1388
