The Art Deco splendour of Marine Court and New Sun Lounge, St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex. The building was completed in 1937 and was for a time the tallest block of flats in the United Kingdom. Architects were Kenneth Dalgleish and Roger K Pullen, inspired by the Queen Mary. Date: 1930s

Synagogue Temple Beth-El, 5th Avenue, New York

Built in 1891 by architect Arnold Brunner in Indiana lime stone to cater for the large Jewish community living in New York . The Jewish community thrived since its first settlers arrived in 1654 during the Dutch period. Located at the point of 5th avenues meeting with 76th street this stunning building was sadly demolished in 1929 to make way for an apartment house. Date: 1902

Sinaia, Romania. A mountain resort in Prahova County, the town was named after the Sinaia Monastery (itself named after the Biblical Mount Sinai), around which it was built. King Carol I's summer Palace, Peles Castle, is close to the town and interior views are shown on this postcard. On the left are the apartments of Prince Ferdinand and on the right is the Tavern, found in the Great Tower. Date: 1899
