Oglethorpe Fails in Attack on St. Augustine
Part of the War of Jenkin's Ear between Great Britain and Spain, James Oglethorpe led a band of English soldiers, militia, and Chickasaw and Creek Nation soldiers. However the Spanish were able to get supplies through the blockade and Oglethorpe was forced to withdraw on land due to hurricane season.
