Scotts Bunker, Polygon Wood, Belgium
The bunker is just behind the New Zealand National Memorial, though one needs to climb a small wall to visit it from there. It gets its name from Lt-Col Allan Humphrey Scott DSO, Commanding Officer of the Australian 56th Battalion which advanced through the wood on 26 September 1917. Sadly he was killed on 1 October. He is buried in the adjacent Polygon Wood CWGC Cemetery. Date: 2011
