Four soldiers of the 2nd Batallion Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 19th Brigade, 6th and 27th Divisions, Bois Grenier Sector, wearing some of the first gas masks to be issued to soldiers in the trenches of the Western Front during the First World War. Respirators for wear against poison gas were first issued to the Battalion on 3 May 1915. Date: 1915

Fluted cardboard backing held with clips. Supplied ready to hang with sawtooth hanger and rubber bumpers. Spot clean with a damp cloth. Packaged foam wrapped in a card.
