Seventeen students on the seventh Test Pilots? Course at the Empire Test Pilots? School, Farnborough, visited the factories of A.V. Roe & Co Ltd at Woodford and Chadderton on 2 November 1948. Six members of the Farnborough staff accompanied the students. S.D. Davies, Chief Designer, explains a metal to metal bonding process to Sqn Ldr R.E.
