Framed Photos from Mary Evans Picture Library
Regina Badet as a Bacchante
French actress and dancer, Anne Regina Badet (1876 - 1949), dressed as a bacchante at the Theatre des Capucines, Paris. She was a major star of the Opera-Comique in Paris and made her debut at the Grand Theatre de Bordeaux where she became a principal dancer. Wearing a succession of skimpy outfits led to her being frequently featured in the French and English press.
