Norfolk County Asylum, Main Building - Front Entrance. The Norfolk County Lunatic Asylum was established in 1814 at Thorpe near Norwich. The site was later used as a military hospital during the First World War. It subsequently became known as Norfolk Mental Hospital and then St Andrews Hospital. Date: 1908
