St Martins Church
Proposal to widen the pavement in front of St Martins Church, the council declined the proposition, was built in 1726 by James Gibbs on the site of an earlier church. The original church was built by Henry VIII to prevent funerals passing through Whitehall. Nell Gwyn was buried there as was James Smith, Lord Mohun and Robert Boyle. Date: circa 1900
