Not content with being a successful yachtswoman, Marion Barbara Joe Carstairs (1900 - 1993), will take the wheel of her own motor boat at the international races at Cannes. She is shown, on right, accompanied by Miss Barbara ( Bardie ) Coleclough, testing her new craft at Cowes. Openly lesbian, Joe Carstairs was a wealthy British power boat racer known for her speed and her eccentric lifestyle. Date: 1925
