The Tower of the Monk (Torreon del Monje) one of the iconic buildings of the seaside resort of Mar del Plata, Argentina. It is a building of medieval influences, built on the rocks of Punta Piedras in 1904, currently operating as a confectionery. Formerly known as Tower Pueyrredoand earlier as the Belvedere. This card shows the original tower in 1910. A folly gazebo designed in the European style by architect Charles Nordmann. Date: circa 1910
