John Le Carre (David Cornwell)
John le Carr (pseudonym of David John Moore Cornwell, b 1931), English author of spy novels, many of which have been adapted for television and film. He worked for MI5 and MI6 in the 1950s and 1960s. Seen here at a memorial service in Cornwall for the writer and illustrator Jean Tangye, who died in 1986
