James Thomas Byford McCudden (1895-1918), British air ace with a confirmed overall score of 57, who rose to the rank of Major, seen here in the cockpit of his Royal Aircraft Factory SE 5a. He was the most highly decorated British airman of WW1, with the DSO and Bar, the MC and Bar, the MM and the VC. Date: circa 1917
