Car Park at Moat Farm Roadhouse, Wrotham, Kent
View of Moat Farm roadhouse in Wrotham, Kent. Roadhouses became established in Britain during the inter-war years, particularly in the south-east and suburbs of London as increased car ownership caused people to seek venues that combined leisure facilities with motoring. Roadhouses often began as petrol stations or were already inns, but they variously offered dining, dancing, cabaret, cocktails and, in the case of Moat Farm, a swimming pool. Moat Farm still operates today as a pub, and uses its fourteenth century barn for functions. However, the swimming pool is long gone. Date: early 1930s

16x12 Print in an MDF Wooden Frame with 180 gsm Satin Finish Paper. Glazed using shatter proof thin plexiglass. Frame thickness is 1 inch and depth 0.75 inch. Fluted cardboard backing held with clips. Supplied ready to hang with sawtooth hanger and rubber bumpers. Spot clean with a damp cloth. Packaged foam wrapped in a card.
