Captain Noel Godfrey Chavasse, VC
Captain Noel G. Chavasse was Medical Officer to the 1/ 10th Battalion of the Kings Liverpool Regiment during the First World War, and is the only person to have been awarded the Victoria Cross twice for the same war. He was awarded his first V.C at the Battle of Hooge in France, for showing extreme bravery whilst rescuing the wounded under enemy fire. He died gaining his second V.C in the battle at Wieltje, near Ypres in 1917
