Coronation of Edward VII ceremony of atonement
Four knights of Garter, to wit, the Earl of Rosebery, Earl Spencer, Earl, of Derby and Lord Cadogan, in their Garter cloaks, held over a cloth of gold. The Dean of Westminister, taking the ampulla and spoon from the altar, pours some Holy water into the spoon, and with it the archbishop anointed the King in the form of a cross. Date: 9 August 1902
