The Bungalow, Whiteway Colony, Gloucestershire
The Bungalow, Whiteway Colony, near Stroud in Gloucestershire, was established in 1898. A group of Tolstoyan anarchists bought 40 acres of land, then burnt the property deeds as a symbolic rejection of the notion of property. The settlement still exists today and continues to be run on a communal basis
