Rex Motorcycle and Sidecar - on the beach at Margate. This particular model, launched after the end of WWI was powered by a new Blackburne engine. The two young chaps seem utterly delighted by their chariot! Date: circa early 1920s

Bathing machine owner and swimming master, Essex
Pictured in front of his bathing machines on the beach at Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex, is Charlie Bates with some of his family and the horse which hauled the machines down to the water's edge and back. Holding the horse's head is Charles Polley, wearing a jumper with the title Swimming Master.
