David Copperfield by Walter Frederick Evelyn from the novel by Charles Dickens (1849-50). First produced at the Lyceum Theatre, on 6th April 1923. Bransby Williams (14 August 1870 3 December 1961) played both Micawber and Peggotty, shown left and right respectively. He had already portrayed a wide range of Dickens characters on the music halls.
