Bismarck battleship
The moment of launching. The Bismarck battleship begins her slide down the ways after being christened by the granddaughter of Prince Otto von Bismarck, Frau Dorthea von Loewenfeld. Just as the champagne bottle was smashed on the ships bow, a huge sign was lowered to reveal her name, and a cover was removed from the family crest. Before completion, the crest was removed, and a flared Atlantic bow replaced the straight stem. Date: February 14th 1939
