A First World War mahogany plaque in the shape of Australia. The piece contains the following : 1. A multi-coloured badge worn at the top of the left sleeve by members of the Australian Flying Corps. It was a sort of Branch of Service or formation badge to indicate that you belonged to the Flying Corps. 2. The white and red insignia for the 24th Battalion, 6th Brigade, 2nd Division AIF. 3. A bronze AIF badge. 4. A brass shoulder title (Australia) worn by 1st & 2nd Divisions of the AIF, denoting volunteers for overseas service. 5. A gold and enamel RFC badge.
