WW1 - An Italian Bersagliere - the Bersaglieri are a corps of the Italian Army originally created by General Alessandro La Marmora in the 1830s to serve in the Army of the Kingdom of Sardinia, later to become the Royal Italian Army - a high-mobility light infantry unit, recognisable by a distinctive wide-brimmed hat decorated with glossy black capercaillie feathers.
