W. S. P. U Flag Bristol Arson 1913
The original W.S.P.U flag in purple, white and green cloth which was stolen from the offices and shop, Queens Road, Bristol, October 1913. Students from the University raided the shop in retaliation for the arson attack on their boathouse in Coombe Dingle. This was blamed on W.S.P.U militants. The flag is stamped with the following dedication: In memory of the Bristol Headquarters of the W.S.P.U. Ragged by Undergrads After the Burning of the University Pavilion by Suffragettes October 23 1913, Bravo Varsity. Length 120cm x 70cm wide. Date: 1913
