Wreck of HMS Invincible, Battle of Jutland, WW1
Scene during the Battle of Jutland, in the North Sea near Denmark, during the First World War, showing the wreck of the British battlecruiser HMS Invincible, in a photo taken from HMS Benbow about half an hour after the destruction of the ship. The bows and stern are clear above the water, the midship portion being on the seabed. The torpedo boat destroyer HMS Badger is approaching (right) to pick up the six survivors (two officers and four men), four of whom are on a target raft between the Badger and the bows of the wreck.
