Woman police officer off duty, Epsom, WW2
Woman police officer (WPC Ivy Baxter) off duty, while stationed at Epsom, Surrey, during the early part of the Second World War (spring 1940). In July 1940 she was promoted to sergeant and posted to the Isle of Man, where she undertook security duty for the duration at internment camps in Port Erin and Port St Mary. Date: 1940
