Norman Everard Brookes (1877-1968) Australian No. 1. tennis player and Wimbledon champion in 1907 and 1914. Brookes also played doubles with the New Zealander, Anthony Wilding (four-times Wimbledon champion) and beat him in the championship final in 1914 in three straight sets.
