Taylor. A campaign print, grandiose in design and imagery, for Whig presidential candidate Zachary Taylor. A corona of thirty stars appears in a burst of light. Emanating streams of light illuminate a broad expanse of sky filled with clouds. In the center of the sky is a large bald eagle, holding a cluster of thunderbolts in one talon and an olive branch in the other. He descends toward the name Taylor, which is spelled out in massive block letters across the sky below. On each letter is the name of a Taylor military victory, with the number of forces under Taylors command and those of the enemy. The battles include (from left to right): Fort Harrison, Okee-Cho-Bee, Palo Alto, Resaca del la Palma, Monterey, and Buena Vista. Placed in and around each letter are combat scenes. Prominent on top of each letter is an American flag, that on the letter T having a liberty cap as well. A vine of laurel connects all of the letters. Date c1848. Taylor. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame. While we aim to keep sizing consistent, exact dimensions may vary slightly due to differences in print size or production requirements, which may result in a variation in the overall size (up to approximately 2.5cm (1"))
