Tatler cover, Prince of Wales in Grenadier Guards, 1917
H.R.H. The Prince of Wales, later King Edward VIII and then Duke of Windsor, pictured on the front cover of The Tatler in June 1917 in the uniform of the Grenadier Guards in which regiment he served in the war both as a regimental officer (albeit one who was not allowed to participate in any action) and also on the GHQ staff. Contrast this picture with image number 10609863 taken in 1914 where the Prince looks considerably younger. Date: 1917
