A Brigadier and his staff alongside Tank D-17, which was used as his headquarters, near Flers, On the 15 September 1916 this particular tank, commanded by Lt Stuart Hastie, had led the advance down Flers High Street until, coming under heavy bombardment, it was forced to turn back, eventually being ditched at the site shown here
