Suri-sicuris Dance - La Paz, Bolivia
This dance originates from the Altiplano region of Bolivia and existed already before the arrival of the Spaniards. The dancers of Suri-sicuris (Aymara words suri (" ostrich" ) and sikuri (zampona musician) wear imposing circular crowns made of ostrich feathers with bright colors in the central part. The rst of their costumes are far more restrained. Date: 1930
