Suffragette Scottish W. S. P. U Cup & Saucer
A tea cup and saucer commisioned for use at the Scottish W.S.P.U Exhibition, held in Glasgow in April 1910, Votes for Women April 22nd 1910, remarked that the design is a combination of the Scottish and Suffrage emblems; the figure of justice designed by Miss. Sylvia Pankhurst and the Scottish thistle stand side by side in most delicate shades of purple and green. The Sylvia Pankhurst motif of the Angel of Freedom appeared on the tea service designed for the refreshment rooms at the Womens Exhibition in Knightsbridge in May 1909. The Scottish piece bears the mark of the Diamond China Co. and is all hand painted. Date: 1910
