Suffragette Mrs. Pankhurst Haverford West 1908. Mrs. Pankhurst addresses a crowd at Haverford West, Pembrokeshire, in July 1908. The W.S.P.U were campaigning against the Liberal Candidate, Walter Roch at a by-election (held 16th July 1908). Haverford West was H.Q Mrs. Pankhurst en-camped at the Mariners Hotel, others joining the campaign included, Annie Kenney, Mrs. Martel, Elsa Gye and Mrs. Massey. Mrs. Pankhurst was sure that our fight for freedom appeals to the freedom loving people of Wales. although Roch was returned albeit with a reduced majority. Date: 1908
