Suffragette Annie Kenney Released Prisoners. Annie Kenney (1879-1953) at a reception in the Queens Hotel Bristol to welcome two released prisoners in March 1909. Both had served 1 month setences in Holloway following the deputation arrests on 24th February. Ellen Pitman and Mary Allen (right holding flowers) took the train from London and were met by a procession and members of the W.S.P.U. Mary Allen (1878-1964) later moved to Hastings and then Edinburgh working as a W.S.P.U organizer. During WW1 she joined the Women Police Volunteers. Date: 1909
