St Pauls constractor, by William Heath Robinson
In 1913 the major architectural journals were reporting about the possibility that the dome of St Pauls could collapse due to subsidence and the weakness of the supporting piers. The dome was leaning to the south-west and was becoming noticeable. Illustration by William Heath Robinson showing builders propping up and repairing St Pauls Cathedral.
