Air Chief-Marshal Sir Robert Brooke-Popham, pictured with his wife in London following their return from the Far East. Formerly the British Commander-in-Chief of the Far East command, Brooke-Popham had stepped down from the post at the end of 1941. He and his wife arrived back in Britain shortly before the Japanese advance resulted in the fall of Singapore on 15 February 1942. Date: February 1942
