Sir John George Shaw-Lefevre

Caricature portrait of Sir John George Shaw-Lefevre KCB (1797-1879). Shaw-Lefevre was a British barrister, Whig politician, and civil servant. In 1834, following the Poor Law Amendment Act, he was appointed as a Poor Law Commissioner. He helped found the University of London and was its Vice-Chancellor for many years
