Scouts during Wartime

The first demonstration of the Emergency River Service was given on the Thames in London, with Sea Scouts; nurses and ambulance men among those participating. In time of war, the Service would operate along the busiest 30 miles of the river, taking part in ambulance work, casualty clearing and similar operations.
