The Savoy Hotel at Soliman Pasha Square, Cairo, was only open for 16 years from November 1898 to 1914 housing many famous guests such as Winston Churchill and Cecil Rhodes. During World War I it was used as head quarters of the British Army and was demolished 1924. Date: circa 1908
