View toward the Rumeli Hisari, a Fortress on the European side of the Bosphorus. Built by Mehmet II 1451-1452 prior to his conquering of Constantinople. The castle was completed in 4 months. After the 16th century the Castle held a prison. Restored in 1953 in honour of the 500th anniversary of the conquest of Istanbul
