Royal Wedding 1947 - police hold back crowds

A row of jovial police officers link arms to prevent the crowd surging forward during the royal wedding of 1947. Princess Elizabeth (Queen Elizabeth II) married Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh at Westminster Abbey on 20 November 1947. Crowds outside Buckingham Palace were rewarded by the appearance of the royal couple on the balcony afterwards.
