Royal Wedding 1904 - wedding dress of Alice of Albany
The wedding gown of Princess Alice of Albany who married Prince Alexander of Teck in 1904. Made from soft, flexible satin mouselline, the skirt, supplemented with a very long train, is festooned with white chiffon roses, needlework foliage and Louis Seize velvet bows studded with diamonds. The dress also includes a chenille fringe; frills, poufs and flutings of white chiffon and a satin bodice and small chiffon sleeves and bouillons of tulle sewn with brilliants round the decolletage. A small cluster of orange blossom is worn and the veil of Honiton lace was worn by both Queen Victoria and Queen Alexandra at their respective weddings. Date: 1904
