Royal Edward torpedoed August 1915
The first British transport ships to be sunk in the First World War, Royal Edward owned by the Canadian Northern Steamship Company. While transporting Commonwealth troops, was hit on the 13 August 1915, by a German submarine in the aegean, sinking within six minutes with a large loss of life.
