Lawrence Hargrave and his family
Lawrence Hargrave and his family. In a letter to George Crosland Taylor of 1 January 1895 held in the National Aerospace Librarys archives, Hargrave notes: Whilst Bayliss the photographer was here I had a family group & view of Stanwell Park taken. Hargrave refers to the New South Wales photographer Charles Bayliss (1850-1897) who also took the much-reproduced 1894 photograph of Hargrave and his assistant James Swaine experimenting with four man-lifting kites. The original of this photograph is included in Lawrence Hargraves photograph albums held in the National Aerospace Librarys archives at Farnborough
