Moreni - a town in Dambovita County, Romania, located about 100 km north-west of Bucharest. This postcard shows an oil fire which raged for about 6 weeks in September/October 1925. In 1691, Moreni became the first place in Romania (and third in the world) where oil was extracted. Date: 1925
