Quebec Bridge, Canada - Centre section prior to collapse
The centre section of the Quebec Bridge being raised into position on 11th September 1916. This photograph was taken just prior to the span collapsing in a tragic construction accident which claimed the lives of 13 workers. After the bridges completion in 1917, special passes were required for those wanting to cross the structure. It remains the longest cantilevered bridge span in the world
