Princess May of Teck
Princess May of Teck, (later Queen Mary), (1867 1953). Soon after her debut into Society. At the age of 24 she was betrothed to Prince Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence and Avondale, the eldest son of Edward VII, but six weeks after the announcement of the engagement he died unexpectedly of pneumonia. The following year she became engaged to Albert Victors next surviving brother, George, Duke of York, who became King George V of Britain Date: Circa 1887
