A poster designed by the silhouette artist H. L. Oakley advertising an exhibition of works by students of the Leeds School of Science and Art in February 1905. Harry Lawrence Oakley (1882-1960) became a well-known silhouette artist, whose silhouettes were in demand for posters, magazines illustrations and advertising. He also cut thousands of portraits during his lifetime. He set up studios around the country, at seaside resorts and in department stores. Date: 1905
